This year’s RAPID + TCT additive manufacturing event in Los Angeles (June 25-27) was the largest to date—with more than 400 exhibitors and 9,000 attendees. In addition to keynote speakers, technical presentations and new product introductions, several awards were announced at the event.

Leading the list, Paul Gradl, a principal engineer at NASA, received the AM Industry Achievement Award for a longtime career advancing AM in the global aerospace industry.

Advanced Engineering Solutions, led by Andreas Vlahinos, PhD, partnered with PTC and Ichilov Hospital to earn the Aubin Case Study Award for their work on patient-specific femoral implant with osseointegration.

Onulis received the AM Start-Up Technology Award for its WRAP Prime product—the industry’s first traceable and fully automatic production DLP post-curing unit for ISO 9000-certified users.

3D Solar was named the winner of the second annual AM Pitchfest award for its presentation on how hybrid-3D printing enables next-generation solar, semiconductor and generative AI in the automotive supply chain.

Meanwhile, the Digital Manufacturing Challenge was won by Raffles Institution in Singapore (high school) and the University of Waterloo in Canada (college).
