SPRINGFIELD — Pushing her nearly $300 million economic development proposal to boost high-tech advancements in robotics and advanced manufacturing, Gov. Maura T. Healey spent the day in Western Massachusetts learning more about the needs of the industries.

Joined with her secretaries of labor and workforce development, economic development and higher education, Healey talked to robotics students and their professors at Western New England University, met owners of machining shops and attended the Massachusetts Building Trades Union convention at MGM Springfield Tuesday.
