USDA Rural Development in Missouri announced the grand opening of a surgical center at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
An open house was Friday.
The center’s funding comes partially from a $1 million federal investment, which is part of a grant program that aims to fund critical care needs in Texas County and surrounding rural counties.
This investment will improve access to critical care and vital surgeries at Texas County Memorial Hospital, benefiting thousands of rural residents in and around that community, it said.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to join in celebrating this new surgical facility in partnership with Texas County Memorial Hospital,” said USDA Rural Development Missouri State Director Kyle Wilkens. ”We treasure living and working in rural areas, but we know there can be healthcare infrastructure challenges. Today, however marks one more step toward closing the book on rural healthcare disparities.”
