(Alexandria, MN)–Today, (Thursday) U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director of Minnesota Colleen Landkamer is joining Runestone Electric Association CEO Al Haman in Alexandria to showcase the electric cooperative’s planned expansion made possible by a USDA loan. They will reportedly discuss the impact that expanded, modern electric infrastructure will have for the nearly 1,100 customers soon to be connected.

Officials say when completed, there will be nearly 150 miles of improved or constructed modern, electric power lines that will impact nearly 1,100 customers. REA was able to secure $25 million in loans through USDA Rural Development’s Electric Infrastructure Loan and Loan Guarantee Program for the expansion.
