Little Rock (KATV) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is set to announce a new plan designed to increase access to healthy foods in a press conference today.

The new plan is designed to expand and diversify food markets, increasing access to healthy foods particularly within underserved communities.

Arkansas ranks as one of the primary states that will benefit from these new measures.

The press conference will be spearheaded by Agriculture Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small and Reinvestment Fund Senior Program Manager Anne Misak, and will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 17.
