OSCEOLA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — The USDA is making domestic fertilizer production investments totaling $116 million in nine states to increase competition lower fertilizer costs for American farmers and lower food costs for US consumers.
One of those investment grants, $80 million worth is headed to the Michigan Potash Company in Osceola County.
With the investment, the facility is expected to produce 400,000 tons per year of high-grade potash with the construction of a new mining and processing facility in Osceola County.
