USDA funding

WASHINGTON D.C. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced funding for several projects around the nation through the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). More than $256,000 in loans and grants will support more than 1,100 clean energy projects.

Area recipients include Stiebel Properties LLC in Traverse City ($74,319), TC Millworks ($39,974), Lively Holdings LLC in Leelanau County ($39,696), Benthem Brothers Inc. in McBain ($974,308) and Buning Dairy Farm LLC in Falmouth ($241,207).

Civil rights tool

WASHINGTON D.C. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently launched the USDA Civil Rights Management System Program Discrimination Complaint submission portal.

The new online tool is for customers who may have experienced discrimination when applying for USDA services or participating in programs. The portal is offered through the USDA Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights. Access the new resource at www.usda.gov/oascr/program-complaints.
